Starting Your Day at Sweet Pea
From the moment your child enters the school, they are welcomed with a warm smile. A staff member greets the child at the door and inquires about the child’s evening and morning and discusses any specific information with the parent that will ensure the child’s needs are met.

Circle Time
Activities may include storytelling, puppetry, or other creative drama and interactive imaginative adventures.

Snack & Lunch
Often reflecting the geographical location the students are studying that week, we strive for a nutritious snack and lunch appropriate for each child. Your child’s dietary restrictions are strictly adhered to.

French & Spanish
Numbers, letters, objects and basic phrases are practiced using engaging visuals, songs and drama.

Outdoor Time
Outdoor Time is a priority for Sweet Pea. Our regular Nature Walks are a lovely way for littles to explore our community and our landscape. We also visit Little Howe Park often since it is just one block away. Children should wear clothes that can get dirty and that are weather appropriate.

Table Toys
Small motor control activities and texture play are emphasized by use of water play, puzzles, lacing, numbers, magnets and more.

Nuts & Bolts Notes
When you arrive at Sweet Pea you'll head for the Sign In/Sign Out sheets posted by the classroom doors. This is where your little will be signed in/out and met by one of our wonderful Greeters who will bring them into class. Cubbies are provided outside each room for coats and other things that might need to be stored during class time.

There is a rack of files outside the Ladybug & Flowers rooms and outside the Spider & Forest Friend rooms. Each student has a file in the rack for their classroom. This is where we put announcements, monthly calendars, your child’s artwork, and any business items such as invoices, vacation forms, etc.

Drop Off and Pick Up are also great time to stop by the office to arrange Vacation or Make Up days or to set a meeting with a Teacher or with the Administrative Staff: the Artistic Director, Managing Director, Director of Preschool Operations, and Director of Enrollment.
